Capital One: Grace Hopper Event
Eno Animation
project background
Each year, Capital One has a booth at the Grace Hopper Conference. In 2018, our team was asked by the Brand department to help come up with data visualization inspired animations. We didn’t have a resident Animator and this was a bit out of our realm, but we took it on despite the tight turnaround.
Eno is Capital One’s virtual assistant to help customers get their questions answered, fast. Eno is like the Alexa for banking.

data gathering + Storyboarding
After working with the Eno team to gather and source data, we began crafting a story that would be safe to tell to the public. We iterated a few times on a storyboard, working closely with both the Eno and Brand teams.
animation
Since we had no animator on our team, we had to source some help. We were able to find some great talent to bring this storyboard to life. I provided the storyboard and Illustrator files and he made them a reality.
As you view the animation below, I’d like you to keep in mind the format was for an L-shaped LED board. The left side would wrap around a smaller, vertical-oriented screen. The image at the very beginning is a 3D-render of the space and screen used.
